Koda Energy is looking for a licensed CDL Driver in Shakopee Minnesota! The Class A Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of biomass fuel and related materials between Koda Energy facilities, offsite storage locations, fuel suppliers, and designated pickup points. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the fuel supply necessary for power plant operations while ensuring compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT), company safety, and environmental requirements. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, equipment care, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

Transportation and Material Handling 

• Operate Class A commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, live-bottom trailers, walking-floor trailers, and other fuel transport equipment, as assigned. 
• Transport biomass fuels, including wood waste, agricultural byproducts, and other approved renewable fuel sources between company facilities and external locations. 
• Load, unload, and deliver biomass materials safely and efficiently. 
• Verify load integrity, load securement, weight distribution, and compliance with applicable transportation regulations. 
• Complete daily transportation routes while maintaining production and fuel inventory requirements. 
• Assist with fuel receiving and storage operations when required.

Equipment Operation and Maintenance 

• Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and periodic vehicle inspections. 
• Identify and report equipment deficiencies, safety concerns, or maintenance needs promptly. 
• Maintain trucks, trailers, transportation equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and serviceable condition by following good housekeeping practices.
• Report faulty equipment promptly and coordinate repairs, preventative maintenance, or authorized minor adjustments with maintenance personnel and management.

Safety and Compliance 

• Follow all company safety policies, environmental procedures, and operating practices. 
• Comply with all federal, state, and local DOT regulations. 
• Utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) and participate in safety meetings and training programs. 
• Maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and satisfactory driving record. 
• Immediately report accidents, incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions.
• Follow all customer-site safety guidelines, wear proper personal protective equipment, and remain professional and courteous while on customer property.

Documentation & Communication

• Complete required inspection reports, fuel logs, transportation records, and electronic documentation accurately and on time.
• Communicate clearly and promptly with Power Plant Operators, Fuel Handlers, dispatch personnel, and supervisors regarding equipment conditions, fuel inventory, route status, and operational concerns.
• Utilize mobile technology, vehicle communication systems, and transportation software, as required.
• Maintain neat, accurate records and logs, including inspection findings, fuel delivery information, and equipment concerns.

Operational Support

• Support fuel supply continuity during operational needs, adverse weather conditions, and scheduled outages.
• Assist with facility housekeeping, yard activities, and material handling operations as needed.
• Participate in emergency response situations and operational support activities when trained and authorized.
• Perform all other duties and responsibilities as directed by leadership.

SCHEDULE:

• This position works 12-hour shifts with day, night, or rotating shift options. The schedule follows a 7-day-on, 7-day-off, providing a full week off every other week.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & WORK REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical, transportation, logistics, or heavy equipment training preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years of commercial driving experience operating Class A vehicles preferred. 
• Experience hauling bulk commodities, agricultural products, biomass, wood products, aggregates, or similar materials preferred. 
• Experience operating 53-foot walking floor trailers or similar self-unloading trailers.
• Experience operating trailers with hydraulic unloading systems, walking floors, or live-bottom equipment preferred. 
• Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, utility, energy production, agricultural, or related environments is desirable.
• Must hold and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of DOT regulations, commercial vehicle operations, and transportation safety standards. 
• Ability to inspect, operate, and troubleshoot commercial transportation equipment. 
• Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures and hazard recognition.
• Knowledge of hauling, unloading, and handling biomass fuels using plant fuel handling equipment such as conveyors and elevators.
• Working knowledge of pre-trip inspections, basic equipment troubleshooting, preventative maintenance practices, and minor repairs related to trucks, trailers, and fuel handling equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating procedures, inspection requirements, and other work-related documents.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing operational demands. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
• Ability to accurately complete documentation and electronic records.
• Ability to receive feedback, follow management direction, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and good judgment when representing Koda Energy in the community.
