Registered Nurse (RN) | Utilization Review Location: Kinston, NC Agency: Prime Staffing Pay: $2,572 per week Shift: Days – 5 days × 8 hours (08:30 – 17:00) Contract Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: 7/20/2026 Job Summary TravelNurseSource is working with Prime Staffing to find a qualified Utilization Review RN in Kinston, North Carolina. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION – it is an in‑person role. No weekends and no call responsibilities. Responsibilities Facilitate utilization management processes to ensure the right care is provided at the right place and time. Apply established criteria to evaluate the appropriateness of admission, level of care, continued hospitalization, and readiness for care transition. Conduct concurrent reviews and proactively resolve care, service, or transition delays/issues in collaboration with the care team. Provide clinical information to third‑party payers to ensure accurate reimbursement. Coordinate care with the treatment team, patient, family, and others. Communicate with physicians to obtain documentation supporting authorization of services. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred). Minimum of 2 years of Utilization Review experience. EPIC and Acute Hospital experience required. Experience with Denials Management, Peer‑to‑peer, Appeals, and use of InterQual and MCG evaluation criteria. NC or compact state RN license required; BLS required; ACM/CCM preferred. Average daily census: 30; 24‑hour orientation. Strong communication, teamwork, and analytical skills.
