Automation Technician

Automation Supervisor

  Function

The Automation Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the robotic systems used in the manufacturing and packaging of Medicinal Cannabis in a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility.

  Schedule

This is a full-time position and may require scheduled and/or on-call weekend hours. Overtime, if necessary, must be approved by your manager in advance. 

• Operation and modifications of the automated systems. 
• Sanitation activities for equipment, machinery, and surroundings. 
• Ability to resolve issues and ensure top-quality products are being produced. 
• Quality control awareness to meet product guidelines and specifications. 
• Maintain cleanliness throughout your work area and facility to meet the Standard Operating Procedures. 
• Maintain an equipment log, ensuring machinery is properly calibrated, cleaned, and kept in working condition. 
• Schedule preventative machinery maintenance to ensure proper operations.
• Communicate with manager for all down time scheduled or unscheduled for maintenance or system upgrades.
• Waste management and documentation awareness according to COMAR standards. 
• Follow GW SOP regulations for all solvent materials and chemicals.
• Maintain and follow company safety and state regulations for proper PPE surrounding the operation, maintenance, and cleaning of machinery. 
• Inspect and review equipment installations for design and operation.
• Adhere to all safety standards and procedures while demonstrating a high degree of awareness for employees and worksite.
• Communication and collaboration with team members and leadership for daily assignments and production assignments. 
• Daily record keeping requirements, including electronic documentation for production and compliance regulations. 
• Knowledge of pounds breakdown (ounces, eights, grams, shake, etc.)
• Provide expertise to continue advancement of automated systems.
• Coordinate schedules and duties as required to meet company needs and goals. 
• Provide technical and business guidance while mentoring other/new technicians.
• Must follow rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in accordance with Grow West MD’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives.
• Provide system training and operational skills as assigned.
• Mechanical and high level of communications skills required.
• Provide troubleshooting skills and maintenance support as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

The physical demands described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include both close vision and distant vision. Work may be performed in a closed or locked room/facility providing safety and security for workers and product compliance. 

Environmental requirements and exposure :

Exposure to fertilizer, dusts, odors, extreme high heat, extreme low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, and other environmental variables. Exposure to nonweather related temperatures and humid conditions including contact with water or other liquids.
