Our goal is to protect the public through helping individuals turn away from crime and become productive, contributing members of our communities, ensuring a safer Ohio for all Ohioans now and in the future.What You'll Do:Starting pay is approximately $60,000 based on shift assignments.Provides patient care as directedDocuments patient-related care timely within the electronic health recordMaintain patient medical recordsAdministers medication, including oral and intramuscular medications, may administer intravenous therapy if appropriately certifiedPerforms treatmentsAssists with Doctor's Sick CallAssists with chronic care clinics managementParticipates in patient care planning and treatment team activitiesResponds to emergenciesProvides emergency care and collection of patient dataCollects vital signs and timely documents all findingsCollects urine and/or other body fluid specimensMay perform venipuncture in order to obtain blood samples for laboratory analysisPrepares patients for release and/or transfer (i.e., Intra-system, out to court) by reviewing patient care, completing Intra-System Transfer Summaries and/or Release SummariesEnsures discharge medication orders are completed and timely forwarded to pharmacy servicesParticipates in work-related training and all institution training exercises as assignedProvides assistance to other healthcare staffInvestigate and documents problem areas and/or areas of concernReviews shift report from preceding shift(s)Assist physicians with medical proceduresAssumes duties of other nurses during absencesObserves, documents and provides nursing support to assistive personnel (i.e., nurse aides, psychiatric attendants, and/or patient care assistants)Provides patient education regarding healthcare maintenance and prevention of diseaseParticipates in continuous quality improvement activitiesPerforms administrative dutiesAttends meetingsSchedules multidisciplinary team meetingsPerforms and/or assists with inventory and ordering of medical suppliesAssists ancillary staff including Health Information Technicians and medical schedulers as needed to ensure patient care needs are metMust work overtime as requiredQualifications:License to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse issued by Ohio Board of Nursing pursuant to Section 4723 Ohio Revised Code & proof of completion of an approved course in medication administration.Note: Licensed Practical Nurses who administer dialysis treatment must possess Certification in IV Therapy pursuant to Section 4723.17 Ohio Revised Code.Job Skills: Nursing, Basic Medical Procedures, Direct Support/Direct Care, Medical Charting, Medication Management, Cultural Awareness, Problem Solving, Customer Focus, Teamwork, ConfidentialityADA Statement: Ohio is a Disability Inclusion State and strives to be a model employer of individuals with disabilities.
