Infection Preventionist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, Day Shift (08:00 - 16:30). No weekends or holidays required.

Job Description

The Infection Preventionist will work independently to implement and manage infection prevention strategies within an acute care hospital setting. Responsibilities include monitoring infection rates, conducting surveillance, and educating staff and patients about infection prevention practices.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage infection prevention and control programs.
• Conduct surveillance of healthcare-associated infections.
• Provide education and training to staff on infection prevention protocols.
• Monitor compliance with infection control practices and guidelines.
• Analyze data and identify trends related to infection rates.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year experience in infection prevention.
• Experience in acute care settings is required.
• CIC Certification is required.
• A degree in Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or a related health science field is preferred.
