About the Position

Job Title: Pediatric Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Pediatric RN Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in Pediatrics License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS through AHA, PALS through AHA Must-Have: 2+ years of experience in Pediatrics EPIC experience required L2 Trauma and experience in a 400+ bed facility required Description: Care for pediatric patients between the ages of 3 days to 18 years. Provide care for common childhood illnesses, including COVID+ patients. Possess a strong knowledge base for pediatric patients at all levels of care. Experience with pediatric trauma, respiratory issues, RSV, general surgical, and birth defects is essential. Utilize equipment and systems such as EPIC and Pyxis for charting and medication administration. IV skills are a plus. The nurse will work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week. Floating to the PICU may be required as assistance. The pediatric unit has 28 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. Dress code includes Caribbean blue scrubs. Specific training and orientation involve 24 hours on the floor with a preceptor.
