Store Sales Manager

Job Overview The Mattress Firm Store Manager leads the vision, company initiatives, and sales performance goals across multiple store units. This role drives merchandising, sales, and customer experience initiatives, coaching and developing associates, and ensuring operational excellence. Responsibilities Lead store vision, initiatives, and achieve sales performance goals by holding associates accountable for in‑store merchandising in multiple store units. Lead selling programs and drive related KPI results across store units while supporting the omni‑channel experience. Ensure teams put the customer at the center and create a compelling and engaging environment for MFRM team members. Serve as an effective coach; develop associates’ skills and performance, fostering a collaborative and motivated team dedicated to success. Conduct new‑hire onboarding, including one‑on‑one meetings, team “bio book” development, and 30‑60‑90‑day check‑ins. Perform workforce management activities, such as store staffing schedules and punch reconciliation, using Operations team tools. Enforce company policies, appearance and functionality standards, and state regulations. Represent the Company brand professionally in all internal and external interactions. Follow procedures for product transfers to ensure proper documentation of inventory. Plan strategically and analyze company‑provided reporting to determine appropriate staffing levels. Partner with leadership to adjust staffing as needed. Provide technical and product knowledge to associates and customers, serving as subject‑matter expert. Analyze reporting to identify skill gaps and address them through coaching. Achieve or exceed individual store financial targets through effective execution and customer service. Ensure store execution of product merchandising, marketing and POP standards. Partner with marketing to plan, implement and monitor the store’s social media strategy. Ensure timely opening and closing procedures. Manage stock inventory levels and review merchandise flow for accurate stock. Follow cash handling procedures, including payment acceptance and deposit processes. Adhere to sales processing policies to ensure proper invoicing. Stand or sit for 8+ hours at a time. Execute company initiatives and additional activities requested by the supervisor. Maintain awareness of competition, advertisements and services offered and develop strategies to counter. Conduct store‑level inventory process and research discrepancies, partnering with leadership and corporate partners as needed. Lift, push or pull 50+ pounds. Compensation Competitive pay range of $70,000 – $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
