You'll design and implement systems that process billions of dollars in transactions, working across our payment orchestration layer, merchant APIs, and real-time settlement engine.This is a high-impact role where your code ships to production quickly and handles real money from day one. You'll collaborate closely with Product to shape what we build, with fellow engineers on how we build it, and have significant ownership over the systems you create.What You'll DoBuild Core Payment InfrastructureDesign and implement payment processing systems that handle high throughput and strict reliability requirementsBuild APIs and SDKs that merchants use to integrate Coinflow into their platformsDevelop fraud detection and risk management features using real-time data analysisScale Our PlatformArchitect systems for performance, reliability, and observability at scaleOptimize database queries, caching strategies, and service communication patternsInstrument services for monitoring, alerting, and debugging production issuesShip Product FeaturesWork end-to-end on features from technical design through deployment and iterationCollaborate with Product and Design to translate requirements into elegant technical solutionsBalance speed of delivery with code quality and long-term maintainabilityImprove How We WorkContribute to technical decisions around architecture, tooling, and best practicesMentor other engineers through code review, pairing, and knowledge sharingHelp shape engineering culture as the team growsWhat We're Looking For5+ years of professional software engineering experienceStrong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js; experience with React is a plusDeep understanding of REST API design, relational and document databases (especially MongoDB), and distributed systems conceptsExperience building systems that handle high transaction volumes or strict correctness requirementsComfortable with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar) and containerized deploymentsTrack record of shipping and maintaining production systemsClear communicator who can discuss technical tradeoffs with engineers and non-engineers alikeBonus: Experience in payments, fintech, or blockchain/cryptoThe base salary range for this role is $140,000 to $190,000 USD. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, education, skills, qualifications and business needs.In addition, the employee who fills this role will be eligible for an equity grant, allowing you to share in the long-term success of the company.
