Job Description

0.667 FTE Grades K-1 STEAM and Literacy Teacher serving students in grades K-1, one session per week of STEAM and one session per week of Literacy for each class Teacher shall:

• STEAM: Expose children to engaging opportunities to explore STEAM topics, including but not limited to coding and maker-space; Coordinate with classroom teachers in the delivery of instruction related to science kits (GEMS-Net); Collaborate with other special subject teachers in the delivery of multi-disciplinary learning opportunities
• Literacy: Engage students in supplementary literacy instruction or enrichment to support grade-level standards and the development of early reading/writing skills

Job Requirements

• Demonstrate the ability to model, deliver, and craft rich student-centered learning experiences related to all STEAM areas and literacy development; Demonstrate the ability to create and implement STEAM and early literacy learning experiences for students in grades K and 1; Understand and be able to design, develop, assess and manage STEAM and literacy learning experiences; Work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues; Serve as a role model for positivity and contribute to the overall mission of the school and district. MUST be certified in general education to teach students in grades K and 1 and be knowledgeable of STEAM and early literacy content/standards
• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
