Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in rehabilitation. This position is in an acute rehab unit that is focused on patient recovery. The nurse will provide care for a diverse patient population, including those recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and orthopedic conditions. Patients participate in three hours of therapy daily, which includes physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology as per their rehabilitation diagnosis. The nurse will be responsible for administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and managing patient needs. Experience with various medical equipment and interventions, including IV administration and wound care, is essential. The role requires floating to other specialties as needed. Weekend shifts are mandatory, working every other weekend. All applicants must be prepared to work three of the five major holidays each year. This position requires adherence to safety and infection prevention protocols. Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team are vital for success in this role. Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and be adaptable to the changing needs of the patient population. References covering the last three years of experience are required during the compliance process before starting the position. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment. Training on specific protocols and systems will be provided as necessary.
