Land Referencing Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Land Referencing Manager to join our Infrastructure team, playing a key role in the successful delivery of major projects across infrastructure, energy, utilities and regeneration sectors.This is a varied and impactful role combining hands-on technical delivery with team leadership, quality assurance and innovation. You will be central to ensuring the accuracy and consistency of land referencing outputs, while also supporting the continued development and implementation of Carter Jonas’ digital land referencing platform.Working as part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team, you will contribute to a wide range of nationally significant and high-profile schemes, helping to shape best practice and drive quality across projects. We also support flexible and agile working arrangements to help you balance your professional and personal commitments.Main TasksLeading and supporting land referencing activities across CPO, DCO, TWAO and GVD schemesUndertaking ownership identification, title analysis and reconciliation of land interestsPreparing and reviewing Books of Reference, land plans, schedules and statutory documentationEnsuring consistency and accuracy between GIS datasets, plans and written schedulesSupporting quality assurance processes, including peer review and audit readinessProviding technical guidance, mentoring and support to junior land referencersCollaborating with surveyors, land agents, legal teams and clients to resolve complex land issuesSupporting the implementation and continuous improvement of digital systems and processesWhat will it take to be successful?We are seeking an experienced land referencing professional with strong technical expertise and a solid understanding of statutory infrastructure processes. You will have experience working on CPO, DCO, TWAO or GVD schemes, alongside a good knowledge of relevant legislation and GIS-supported workflows. A high level of accuracy, attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach are essential. You will also be a confident communicator, comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams, mentoring others and building strong client relationships, with a commercial mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
