Columbus - Fleet & Inventory Supervisor (PA2) - PN:

Schedule BWC’s core hours of operation are Monday–Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, though start and end times may vary by operational need. Employees may begin work as early as 7:00 am or as late as 8:30 am on a flexible schedule subject to supervisor approval. Work Location William Green Building, Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio. Most positions are on‑site at one of BWC’s seven offices. Responsibilities Oversee statewide fleet management operations, including vehicle purchasing, assignment, utilization, and disposition. Develop, implement and enforce policies governing fleet operations and the Universal Fleet Voyager Credit Card program. Supervise Fleet Management staff, including hiring, performance evaluation, coaching, and disciplinary recommendations. Establish departmental goals and performance standards and implement strategies to improve operational effectiveness. Review and analyze fleet performance data to guide decisions on vehicle usage, mileage, and assignments. Oversee agency‑wide equipment and asset inventory to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper reporting. Lead statewide inventory processes, resolve discrepancies with internal and external partners, and recommend improvements to asset‑control policies. Qualifications 4 years of training or 4 years of experience in business administration, management science or public administration. Or completion of an undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration; 2 years of training or 2 years of experience in a supervisory, administrative & or managerial position. Or completion of an undergraduate core program in an academic field commensurate with the program area to be assigned per the approved Position Description; 2 years of training or 2 years of experience in a supervisory, administrative & or managerial position or staff position involving planning, research & or policy/procedure development. Or 1 year of experience as Program Administrator 1, 63122. Or equivalent minimum class qualifications for employment as noted above. Job Skills Program Management Major Worker Characteristics Knowledge: supervisory principles/techniques; BWC policies & procedures, budgeting, inventory control, labor relations, employee training & development, counseling, interviewing, fleet operations & policies. Skill: operation of personal computer. Ability: deal with large number of variables & determine specific course of action; proofread technical materials, recognize errors & make corrections; write complex, meaningful & concise reports & position papers.
