East West Hospitality is looking for a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to help maintain our Charleston-area condominium and townhome communities. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll play an essential role in keeping our communities safe, functional, and operating at their best. No two days are the same-you'll tackle everything from preventative maintenance and troubleshooting to repairs across multiple building systems while building positive relationships with residents, vendors, and your teammates.

Work Location: Charleston, SC (Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island & Downtown Charleston)

What You'll Do

• Perform building maintenance and repairs across a variety of trades, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, painting, pool/spa systems, irrigation, and general handyman work.
• Complete preventative maintenance and inspections to help maximize the life and performance of building systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair building systems, including mechanical equipment, life safety systems, and access control systems.
• Respond promptly and professionally to resident service requests and after-hours emergency calls as part of the on-call rotation.
• Identify repair needs beyond routine maintenance and coordinate with outside vendors and contractors while monitoring work quality.
• Maintain accurate work orders and documentation using mobile applications and computer-based maintenance systems.
• Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following all company safety procedures.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to homeowners, residents, guests, vendors, and fellow team members.

Schedule

• Full-time, year-round position
• Participation in an on-call rotation for weekends and after-hours emergencies is required

Start Date: ASAP

Pay Rate: $24-$30/hour DOE

Compensation will be based on experience, certifications, technical skill set, and overall qualifications.

Minimum Requirements


Experience & Education

• 2-3 years of experience in building maintenance, property maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related field.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and equipment commonly associated with building maintenance.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and general building repairs.

Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Comfortable using mobile devices and basic computer applications for work orders, communication, and documentation.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond calmly to urgent maintenance situations.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and perform tasks in confined spaces as needed.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
• Comfortable performing manual labor both indoors and outdoors.
• Must be able to work in Charleston's variable weather conditions, including high heat and humidity during the summer, occasional cold or wet winter conditions, and frequent temperature changes.

Certifications

• Valid South Carolina Driver's License required.
• HVAC certification and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification are preferred.
• Additional trade certifications are a plus.
