Reviews information required for the planning, design and estimating for local flood damage reduction projects.

Inspects sites of proposed projects noting local conditions useful for later design. Analyzes data and computations to determine the most plausible and practical plan, both technically and economically.

Produces and reviews designs, and contract plans for civil works projects.

Coordinates and completes routine and non-routine inspection of completed works and Levee Safety Program tasks such as inspections, risk assessments and review of modifications.

Discusses project plans and details of problems regarding local conditions, land requirements, local participation, utility relocation and cooperation with other agencies.

Participates in design review conferences, value engineering conferences and public meetings.

Writes memorandums, text for Design Analyses and Design Reports and task descriptions.

Prepares in AutoCAD, major portions of final contract drawings for large projects and complete drawings for smaller projects.

Assembles or directs the assembly of specialized engineering design data received from other organizational disciplines and integrates such data into the design document.
