Diversified Tech - Emergency Services | Full Time | Nights

Shift & Location Night Shift: 5:00pm – 5:00am. Location: Singing River Pascagoula Hospital. Position Overview The Diversified Technician provides basic nursing care—including personal and restorative care—to patients according to predefined guidelines, a plan of care established by a Registered Nurse, and under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. The technician also follows CDC Guidelines for Infection Control and Singing River Health System Department of Nursing Plan for Provision of Care, Treatment and Services. The Diversified Technician functions as a member of the nursing unit team by performing routine clerical and receptionist duties as designated by the Nurse Manager, Patient Care Coordinator or Registered Nurse. Preferred: Graduate from a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) program. Hospital/healthcare experience and/or on‑the‑job training may be accepted in lieu of formal education. Certified in Mississippi as a Nursing Assistant preferred. BCLS certification required upon hire and/or transfer. De‑escalation training required, completed within 90 days of orientation. Experience Nursing Assistant experience preferred. Experience working in an Emergency Department preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience to deliver comparable knowledge, skills and abilities. Reports to & Supervises Reports to: Patient Care Coordinator. Supervises: None. Physical Demands Work is moderately active: frequent sitting with requirements to move about the office, facility, and other facilities within the SRHS service area. Involves negligible exertion to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects including the human body. Requires repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions while operating standard office equipment. Exposure to body fluids, sputum, and tissues that may carry infectious disease. Requires visual acuity to shift focus between monitor and print materials. Must be active for extended periods and able to work scheduled shifts with possible changes. Mental Demands Must demonstrate keen assessment and decision‑making abilities. Superior communication, speaking, and written skills are required. Emotional stability for high‑stress situations, ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and multi‑task in complex settings. Must maintain collaborative and respectful relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations. Special Demands Superior customer service skills and professional etiquette. Proficient in computer usage (keyboard proficiency) and other office technology (telephone, fax, MS Outlook and Word). Ability to demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and professional skills with a patient population of all ages.
