At Cristo Rey Jesuit High School Milwaukee, athletics are an important part of developing the whole person. We are seeking a dedicated coach who believes in the power of sports to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and help young people grow as leaders both on and off the field. This is a seasonal, part-time position compensated through a stipend for the duration of the season. Job Summary The Head Boys Varsity Soccer Coach is responsible for leading, developing, and supporting the Boys Varsity Soccer program while fostering a positive, competitive, and mission-centered team culture. The coach will mentor student-athletes through effective instruction, relationship-building, and leadership while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, accountability, and personal growth. The successful candidate will support the Catholic and Jesuit mission of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School Milwaukee by helping student-athletes develop athletic skills, character, resilience, and a commitment to excellence. The Head Coach serves as a role model and ambassador for the school, fostering an environment in which students can grow academically, socially, spiritually, and athletically. Responsibilities Lead all aspects of the Boys Varsity Soccer program, including practices, competitions, and team development. Plan and implement organized, safe, and engaging training sessions that promote individual and team success. Teach soccer fundamentals, game strategy, and leadership skills while fostering a culture of accountability, respect, and sportsmanship. Mentor student-athletes in their academic, personal, and athletic development. Promote a positive and inclusive team culture that reflects the values of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School Milwaukee. Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, assistant coaches, officials, and the Athletic Department. Ensure compliance with school, conference, and WIAA policies and procedures. Supervise student-athletes during practices, contests, and team travel. Manage team equipment, uniforms, and program-related responsibilities. Serve as a positive role model and ambassador for Cristo Rey Jesuit High School. Qualifications And Skills Previous soccer coaching and/or competitive playing experience required; high school coaching experience preferred. Strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, player development, and game strategy. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to motivate, mentor, and build positive relationships with high school student-athletes. Commitment to fostering academic success, character development, and sportsmanship. Ability to complete required background checks, Safe Environment training, and applicable WIAA coaching requirements. First Aid, CPR/AED, and Concussion Awareness certifications (or ability to obtain) preferred.
