Certified Medical Assistant

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a busy clinical practice. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of clinical experience and possess strong phlebotomy and injection administration skills. This role requires a patient-focused professional who can support both clinical and administrative functions while working collaboratively with physicians, faculty, and staff to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.

Location: Newark, NJ
Position type: Temp/contract role

Schedule: Monday & Wednesday 7:30am - 5:00pm, Tuesday & Thursday - 9:30am - 6:00pm, Friday 7:30 am - 1:00pm (35 hours/week)
Pay Rate: $ 25.00/hour


Required Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification from one of the following organizations:
  
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
• Minimum of one year of clinical Medical Assistant experience
• Experience administering injections
• Experience performing phlebotomy
• Administer vaccinations and subcutaneous injections in accordance with state regulations and delegated authority.
• Perform allergy screenings and other patient assessments as appropriate.
• Conduct EKGs and phlebotomy procedures.
• Perform pulse oximetry and urine dipstick testing.
• Assist with specimen collection and processing.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments, referrals, diagnostic testing, and consultations.
• Coordinate appointments with outside physicians, hospitals, and ancillary service providers.
• Greet patients and provide exceptional customer service.
• Answer telephones, take messages, and relay information appropriately.
• Maintain patient records and file correspondence accurately.
• Process incoming and outgoing mail.
• Maintain clinic logs and ensure compliance with current regulations.
• Stock and maintain supplies, equipment, and examination rooms.
