CDL A OTR Dry Van Owner Operator Nationwide New World 6205 Guhn Road, Houston, Texas Full Time New World Transportation Systems is seeking a skilled and reliable CDL Class A Owner Operator to join our team. As a crucial member, this position will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting household goods and possessions between destinations. Compensation Average Annual Pay: $220,000 to $310,000 Sign-On Bonus: $1,500 (covers the first month insurance and deposits) Average weekly miles: 2,500-3,500 with light loads (under 25k cargo) Settlements paid via direct deposit weekly (every Friday) Highlights Will operate under New World Transportation Systems authority No forced dispatch Company paid expenses: 100% off fuel surcharge 100% of tolls Trailers and maintenance with no fee Fuel Cards- substantial fuel discounts IFTA Full maintenance with various vendors Home Time, Route, & Schedule Home Time: Out 3-4 weeks Route: Typically running all 48 (some regional runs) Level of Touch: Drop and Hook Equipment Requirements Must have your own truck; No destroyed trucks and must be ELD compatible (1998 or newer) Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain a Class A commercial motor vehicle in compliance with all state and federal regulations, company policies, and safety standards. Operate the company vehicle by maintaining the safety of the motoring public, self, and company equipment. Plan and execute routes efficiently to ensure timely delivery while adhering to traffic laws and safety guidelines. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and its equipment, reporting any issues or malfunctions to the appropriate department for prompt resolution. Maintain accurate records of mileage, hours of service, and other required documentation, ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Collaborate with dispatch and other team members to optimize route planning and enhance overall operational efficiency. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to goods or equipment. Maintain a clean and organized truck cab and trailer, promoting a professional image both internally and to the public. Perform any and all duties as assigned. Qualifications Must be at least 23 years of age Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record. Minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience with a verifiable safety record. Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing the transportation industry. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work varied hours and extended shifts when necessary. Basic computer skills for electronic logs and communication. Ability to sit for extended periods and withstand long hours of driving. Ability to pass a DOT physical and possess a valid DOT medical card.
