Job Description Position: School Nurse Department: K-12 School Nurses Reports To: Building Principal and/or Assistant Principal Receives Guidance From: Director of Special Programs and Building Administrator The school nurse supports the well‑being and educational achievement of PK‑12 students by delivering professional health‑care services, managing medical needs, and fostering a safe, healthy school community. Job Details Job ID: 5795198 Starting Date: Aug 24, 2026 Position Type: Part‑time Qualifications RN with a baccalaureate degree in nursing Current Iowa license Knowledge of professional standards (Nurse Practice Act) and other statutes Desired: previous experience in a similar position, experience working with children/students, experience working with children/students with varying degrees of health‑care needs Skills and Job Functions Demonstrated experience or willingness to acquire skills aligned with the district’s mission and core values: Excellence, Innovation, Pride, Relationships, Sense of belonging. Physical Requirements Bending, carrying, climbing, traveling between job sites, lifting, pushing‑pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, walking. Working Conditions Includes extremes of temperature and humidity; hazards include stairs and communicable diseases.
