About the Opportunity

AD Energy Recruitment is partnering with a growing Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) operator that is expanding its presence across North America. As the demand for sustainable energy solutions continues to grow, our client is investing heavily in the development and operation of RNG facilities that transform agricultural waste into pipeline-quality renewable natural gas.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the operations team at their facility in Maurice, Iowa.

The Role

This is a hands-on maintenance position supporting the safe and efficient operation of a Renewable Natural Gas facility. Working closely with site leadership, you will be responsible for carrying out routine and reactive maintenance activities across a range of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process equipment.

The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive approach to maintenance, and experience working within industrial environments such as renewable energy, oil & gas, chemical processing, power generation, agriculture, or manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on plant equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation-related issues.
• Maintain and support compressors, generators, boilers, pumps, valves, motors, and associated process equipment.
• Assist with the operation and maintenance of gas flow metering, gas analysis systems, instrumentation, and controls.
• Support compliance activities including inspections, record keeping, data collection, and permit requirements.
• Maintain site housekeeping standards and contribute to a safe, organised working environment.
• Participate in call-out and emergency response activities when required.
• Work closely with site operations personnel to maximise plant uptime, reliability, and performance.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and contribute to a strong safety-first culture.

Required Qualifications

• 1–5 years of maintenance, operations, or industrial experience.
• High School Diploma, GED, Trade School qualification, or equivalent technical training.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capability.
• Experience working with industrial equipment and rotating machinery.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with 4-20mA signals and industrial instrumentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop within the RNG industry.

Preferred Experience

• Instrumentation & Controls experience.
• PLC troubleshooting and industrial automation exposure.
• Gas flow metering and gas analysis systems.
• Experience within RNG, biogas, oil & gas, power generation, chemical processing, environmental services, agriculture, or waste management industries.

Working Environment

This position is based at an operational RNG facility located on agricultural land. Candidates should be comfortable working in an outdoor industrial environment and around equipment associated with agricultural operations.

The role will require:

• Working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Climbing ladders and elevated structures.
• Walking across uneven terrain.
• Lifting equipment and tools.
• Participation in weekend, holiday, and emergency response coverage when required.
