Scheduling & Registration Clerk

The hours will be 8a-5p, one late night (1030a-7p) and an UC weekend rotation.JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to schedule patient appointments, verify and load insurance, and ensure patients are registered in a timely and accurate manner. This position is staffed during clinic hours with support needed with weekend rotation, evening hours, and Urgent Care coverage.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Greeting patients in a friendly manner and answer any questions that may ariseSchedule provider appointments following clinic protocolsSchedule ancillary appointments including audiology, immunization, & labVerify all patient insurances per protocolsVerify demographic information, load patient insurance, request required information through pre-registration process, attach appropriate forms, and scan documents as necessaryCoordinate EMR messagesObtain signatures on required forms such as PHI, release of records, and HIPAAReceive and process patient same day payments and copaysCoordinate return to clinic noticesAdjust provider schedules as needed on a daily basisCollaborating with healthcare professionalsSupport evening, weekend rotation, and Urgent Care hoursOrganize and maintain a clean efficient workspace and patient lobbyPerform other duties as assignedSUPPLEMENTAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Remain punctual, reliable, and available for late coverage if applicableMaintain a positive and respectful attitude while supporting the clinic visionWork effectively under pressure in a fast pace environmentRemain flexible and adapt to changes in work priorities and proceduresMaintain a neat and well groomed professional appearanceWork independently using good judgment and prioritization skillsAttend relevant training sessions and departmental meetingsAbide by clinic protocols, ergonomic recommendations, and OSHA standardsMaintain confidentiality of all clinic information acquired through employmentEstablish and maintain positive working relationships with patients, providers, internal personnel and personnel from other facilitiesAdhere to the philosophy and provide comprehensive care according to a patient centered healthcare clinicWORKING CONDITIONS:Subject to interruptions, imposed deadlines and frequent problem-solving activitiesSubject to hostile and emotionally upset patients, staff, and outside agenciesStandard office environmentPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Abide by ergonomic recommendations of the positionMust possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetic devices that will enable these senses to function adequatelySit for several hoursSubject to lifting and carrying supplies averaging 25 poundsRepetitive motions involving use of phone and keyboardEDUCATION:Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalentDesired: Post-secondary education or training in a health care settingEXPERIENCE:Minimum: One year in a customer service oriented positionDesired: Experience in a clinical settingKNOWLEDGE:Ability to work independently and multitask effectivelyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge of medical terminology desiredKnowledge of health care insuranceWorking knowledge of PC, Windows & Microsoft Office #J-18808-Ljbffr HUDSON PHYSICIANS SC
