We’re looking for a Social Media & Content Strategist who thinks like a creator, acts like a marketer, and understands what makes people stop scrolling. This is an onsite position at our office in North Kingstown, RI. In this role, you'll own Howes' social media strategy and help shape integrated marketing campaigns that build brand awareness, grow and diversify our audience, drive engagement, and support business growth. As part of the marketing team, you’ll work closely with our designers to turn ideas into compelling content. You’ll build relationships, collaborate with creators and influencers, analyze performance, and ensure our brand stays relevant across every platform where our customers spend time. We’re looking for someone who understands both the creative and strategic sides of social media. You know what makes content perform, can recognize an opportunity before it becomes yesterday’s trend, and can use data to make the next piece of content even better. Just as important, you should have a genuine interest in diesel, trucks, automotive, farming, construction, skilled trades, or other hands-on industries, and an appreciation for the people and lifestyle behind them. What You'll Do: Own Social Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute the brand’s social media strategy, establishing goals, themes, content pillars, campaigns, and platform-specific approaches that drive brand awareness, engagement and audience growth. Manage the Content Calendar: Plan, schedule, and oversee posts across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube, ensuring content is timely, relevant, and aligned with marketing objectives. Spot Trends & Execute in Real Time: Monitor platform trends, viral formats, cultural moments, and audience interests, then identify opportunities to turn them into timely social content that feels authentic to Howes and our audience. Partner with the Design Team: Work directly with the design team developing creative briefs, providing direction, and collaborating on assets built specifically to perform across social platforms. Own Community Engagement: Monitor comments, direct messages, and customer reviews across social channels and marketplaces such as Amazon and Walmart. Engage with our community, identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships, and professionally address or elevate issues when needed. Analyze and Improve Performance: Track engagement, reach, views, audience growth, traffic, and other relevant KPIs. Turn performance data into actionable insights that improve content, inform future campaigns, and demonstrate progress to marketing leadership. Optimize & Repurpose Content: Extend the life of strong content by adapting it across platforms and formats. Identify opportunities to leverage creator content, user-generated content, video, photography, and existing marketing assets in new ways. Stay Ahead of Platforms: Keep current on algorithm changes, emerging platforms, new updates and features, creator trends, and evolving best practices to keep Howes ahead of the curve. Who You Are: A strategist with a creator mindset who sees content opportunities everywhere and knows how to turn an idea into something people actually want to watch, share, or engage with. Someone who understands that great social media is both creative and measurable and can turn performance data into smarter content decisions. Comfortable being hands-on. You’re equally willing to develop a campaign strategy, brief the design team, coordinate a creator, write a caption, or jump into the comments. Naturally curious about social platforms, internet culture, creators, and what makes audiences respond. Passionate about trucks, diesel, automotive performance, farming, construction, skilled trades, or other similar industries or at least deeply respectful of the culture and lifestyle. A self-starter who can manage multiple initiatives, take ownership, and move quickly without sacrificing quality. A strong collaborator who can communicate ideas clearly and work effectively across marketing, design, creators, partners, and leadership. What You Bring: 4+ years of experience in social media strategy, social media management, content marketing, or digital marketing. Strong working knowledge of major social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube. Other types of experience a plus: Reddit, online forums, enthusiast communities, and confidence diving into emerging social platforms. Experience with social media scheduling, analytics, listening, and reporting tools. Demonstrated experience working with influencers, creators, ambassadors, or user-generated content programs. Strong writing and storytelling skills with the ability to adapt brand voice across platforms and audiences. Excellent communication, organization, project management, and collaboration skills. Experience with a partner management tool such as Upfluence, Aspire, etc. preferred. Public Relations experience preferred. Experience in basic video editing and short-form video production preferred.
