Clinic Nurse RN/LPNConway, ARJob Title: Clinic & Injection Room RN/LPNReports to: Clinical Management Team and Director of Clinical ServicesWork Schedule:Monday 8:30AM-5:00PMTuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:30AM-4:00PMWednesday 9:00AM-12:00PMRequired to hold compact licensureEmployment Classification: Non-exempt, HourlyPosition SummaryThe Clinic Nurse/Injection Room LPN/RN is responsible for demonstrating knowledge and application of job duties within scope of practice and functions under the direction of their manager(s) and/or Director(s); respectfully interacts with all levels of staff; provides direct care during assigned duty hours; participates in department activities; promotes independence; adherence to the attendance policy; encourages socialization; advocates for the quality of life of our patients while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory and organizational standards; supports the company's core values.Summary of Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinic:Get rooms ready for patients and prepare for allergy testing each morningCalibrate PFT sensor dailyEscort patients to a treatment room and prepare them for the doctor's visitAssist the doctor with skin testing and other procedures as orderedSend prescriptions, complete asthma care plans and discharge summariesComplete documentation in the EMR systemPrepare and administer any medications requested by the doctorPulmonary function testing, FeNO testing, and peak flow monitoringPatient education regarding medications and environmental controlPrepare and administer nebulized medication and patient education (if needed)Scan testing sheetsSchedule appointments for outpatient proceduresAdminister allergy injections and complete all duties of the shot roomKeep clinical area and exam rooms organized and stocked with suppliesKeep samples and sample bags stocked on shelvesCommunicate with injection room staff when emergency medications are used and need to be reorderedCheck refrigerator temperatures daily and log on chartComplete all tasks in Triage when scheduledPrepare patient information folders and Environmental Control packetsPrepare I.D. and scratch traysShut down and plug in computers (pack, if needed), and plug in otoscopes at end of dayTransport supplies (box) to and from satellite offices, as neededMaintain and follow HIPAA policies and proceduresCover Injection Room and/or Front Offices, as neededTrain new staff, as needed, or directedWork with Healix & Specialty pharmacies to process Biologics/IVIG prescriptions and forms:Track shipments and inventory of BiologicsObtain prior authorizations as neededCross train for Triage Nurse position and cover, as neededRun and maintain Emerald22, as neededOrder supplies, as necessary, through the approved clinic procedureInjection Room:Prepare the injection room area each morningAdminister allergy injectionsRe-stock area as needed and order suppliesRe-order vials in a timely mannerOrganize refrigerated vials in appropriate binsLog daily refrigerator temperaturesMonitor shot cards monthly and discard expired vialsEnsure that consent forms are signed; explain shot room policies to new patientsEducation of patients in first injection policyMaintain and follow HIPAA policies and proceduresStay the required 30 minutes after last injection is given before lunch or the end of the dayClean toy and lobby areaKnowledge of all medications and IT treatmentEffectively manage emergency procedures and protocolsOther relevant duties as assigned by Manager and/or DirectorRequirementsAbilities, Knowledge and SkillsEffective communication skills to include:Ability to fluently speak and read EnglishAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, handbooks, policies, patient care plans and procedure manualsAbility to communicate effectively, verbally and written, with all levels of staff and patientsEducation, Prior Work Experience, Special Skill And Knowledge RequirementsRN/LPN License1 to 2 years nursing experience in an office setting, preferredPrevious allergy/asthma experience preferredCPR certification requiredValid Driver's License requiredActive CPR CertificationAcceptable results on Office of Inspector General, State Medicaid Exclusions, Abuse Registry Checks, Background Screenings, Drug Screen, and Sanction ChecksAbility to travel to satellite offices as neededMust be at least 18 years of agePhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
