Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develop individualized treatment plans and goals focused on progressing patients toward discharge within an established length of stay.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to address all barriers to discharge, including equipment trialing and ordering, patient and family training, home exercise program issuance, and coordination of continuing services.
• Manage individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions effectively, ensuring the plan of care is communicated, implemented, and progressed throughout the length of stay.
• Complete accurate and timely medical record documentation including daily notes, goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, discharge documentation, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines.
• Participate in student programs as assigned, providing supervision, developing learning objectives, and completing student evaluations in a positive learning environment.
• Actively engage in professional development, performance improvement initiatives, and patient and professional advocacy efforts including community events and professional memberships.

Required Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Physical Therapist licensure in the state of Florida in good standing.
• Adherence to the state Physical Therapy Practice Act and all applicable regulatory agency requirements.
• Completion of all state-mandated continuing education requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient evaluations and develop evidence-based treatment plans in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
• Commitment to patient and employee safety standards including safe patient handling, infection control, and workplace hazard awareness.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an inpatient rehabilitation environment.
• Familiarity with interdisciplinary team collaboration and discharge planning processes.
• Experience supervising or mentoring Physical Therapy students.
