Quality Improvement Research Analyst - ISM, Surgery

The Quality Improvement Research Analyst is responsible for preparing data abstractions and analyses of clinical data; assisting in the design and testing of data collection instruments; and assisting in project management and research activities. The analyst handles the identification, abstraction, and analysis of clinical data pertinent to clinical quality improvement projects. Non-Bargaining Unit, 862 – Surgery – ISM, Icahn School of Medicine Responsibilities Maintain study log and case reports. Track requests for data sources, including Medical Records. Conduct data abstractions to ensure reliability of data collected by participating health system hospitals for specific Quality Improvement projects. Assist Project Manager and Principal Investigator in the design of data collection tools (chart review tools, patient questionnaires, etc.). Collaborate with the Project Team on designing and testing computerized data collection instruments. Participate in pilot testing of data collection instruments. Assist in the development of training materials. Provide training to other clinical abstractors from health system participating hospitals. Conduct literature searches for articles on various topics and present findings to the Principal Investigator. Summarize and synthesize key clinical information from literature sources for use by the Principal Investigator. Assist Project Manager in providing staff support for committees and team meetings. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related science field. Three years of research and/or data analysis or related experience. Compensation Salary range: $58,661 – $74,000 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, education, and operational need.
