Lead High-Impact Behavioral Programs. Make a Real Difference.
At Dungarvin, we don’t just provide support—we transform lives. As a Program Director, you will lead residential programs serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities alongside complex behavioral and mental health needs.
This is not a traditional group home leadership role. This is an opportunity for a strong, hands-on leader who thrives in high-acuity environments, can confidently guide teams through crisis situations, and is passionate about person-centered, trauma-informed care.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and oversee residential programs, including high-acuity behavioral homes (AFH settings)
- Supervise, coach, and develop teams of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)
- Drive implementation of Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and partner on Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs)
- Provide leadership during crisis situations, ensuring safe, consistent, and compliant responses
- Collaborate with families, case managers, and clinical teams to ensure quality care
- Manage program operations including staffing, budgets, and compliance
- Train new and existing staff on behavioral interventions, safety protocols, and best practices
- Conduct performance management, including coaching, evaluations, and disciplinary action as needed
- Participate in an on-call rotation, supporting both traditional and behavioral programs
Work Environment and Office Hours:
This position is in-office, providing site supervision for direct care staff. This role involves typical office hours, Monday through Friday, full-time. Additionally, the Program Director must have a flexible schedule with the ability to be on-call during the on-call rotation (this includes weekends and odd hours).
Travel to Madison is required.
QualificationsWhat Makes You a Strong Fit
We’re looking for leaders who are confident, experienced, and ready to step into complex environments:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Science, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
- Required or strongly preferred:
- Experience supporting individuals with co-occurring developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses
- At least one-year, hands-on experience with behavioral interventions and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)
- Proven ability to manage crisis situations, de-escalation, and high-risk behaviors
- Experience in residential, group home, or behavioral health settings highly preferred
- Strong decision-making, communication, and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and acceptable driving record
