Software Test Engineer

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Software Test Engineer to work onsite at their client's facility in Spring, Texas. This person will be working in a lab environment, supporting firmware test engineering on high performance computing (HPC) servers.

Responsibilities include:

• Manual testing and troubleshooting of HPC Embedded SW components (Controllers, BMC, and BIOS).

Review customer facing documentation for the HPC Software Embedded deliverables.

Configuration of specific test setup for verifying customer issues.

Provide status of the testing to the HPE Project Manager on a timely basis as requested.

• Develop test automation for Cray embedded software components. Requires proficiency with Python.

• Validate embedded SW deliverables prior to release.

Develop test cases for embedded SW features.

• Troubleshoot, root cause analysis, and triage of defects found during testing. Defects should be filed in Jira.

Verification of issue resolution.

This position is an on-site role with a typical work schedule of Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm CST (1 hour lunch; exclude major holidays).

Compensation range: $35.00-41.00/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including, but not limited to skills, experience, and education.

Skills and Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in firmware test engineering on servers or other high-performance computing devices

Python scripting for use in test automation

Manual testing experience

Test case design and execution

Cross-team communication C programming

Shell scripting

Robot Framework

Redfish API/protocol experience
