Highlights
- Full-time academic faculty position within a respected Department of Ophthalmology
- Join a growing department with expanded clinical, educational, and research resources supported by a new free-standing Eye Institute opening in 2026
- Care for patients with complex visual disorders related to neurologic disease, including brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and other disorders of the nervous system
- Evaluate patients with unexplained vision loss, diplopia, visual field defects, and headaches
- Work collaboratively with neurology, neurosurgery, otolaryngology, and other specialists in a multidisciplinary academic setting
- Serve as a consultant to referring physicians and provide direct patient care as part of multidisciplinary treatment teams
- Teach and mentor ophthalmology residents, fellows, and medical students
- Participate in clinical research and scholarly activity in a supportive academic environment
- EPIC EMR
- Be part of an integrated nationally recognized organization with physician-led medical group and embedded service line
- Leverage access to DAX Copilot, an AI-powered clinical documentation tool integrated with Epic, streamlining clinical workflows by generating draft patient notes for efficient review, editing, and signature
- Experience an environment that provides safe and equitable care for all patients
Training and/or Experience Required
- M.D. or D.O. with completion of an Accredited residency
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
- Fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology
- Licensed / Eligible for licensure in North Carolina
- Active DEA in North Carolina
