Children's Friend
We're Hiring: Speech and Language Pathologist
Location: Central Falls, RI Reports To: Clinical Supervisor- EI Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday - Friday, 8 hour shifts)
Help Little Voices Find Their Way
What if your work could make a difference during some of the most important years of a child's development?
At Children's Friend, our Early Intervention team partners with families to help infants and toddlers build the skills they need to grow, communicate, connect, and thrive. We're looking for a Speech & Language Pathologist who is passionate about supporting young children and empowering families to be active partners in their child's development.
In this role, you'll work with children from birth through age three who have developmental delays or diagnosed medical conditions that may impact development. You'll meet families where they are—literally and figuratively—and provide individualized, family-centered support in the natural environments where children live, learn, and play.
What You'll Do:
As a Speech & Language Pathologist, you will:
- Partner with families to support children's communication, development, and overall growth through teaching, coaching, modeling, and encouragement.
- Provide services within everyday routines and activities, helping families incorporate developmental strategies naturally into their lives.
- Develop and implement family-centered services based on each child and family's goals outlined in their Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP).
- Manage an assigned caseload, including scheduling services, maintaining confidential records, and completing documentation accurately and on time.
- Participate in intakes, evaluations, IFSP development and reviews, and other Early Intervention program processes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, outside providers, consultants, and community partners to ensure families receive coordinated services.
- Support families through the transition process as their child prepares to leave Early Intervention.
- Participate actively in team meetings, peer collaboration, and clinical supervision to continually strengthen your practice.
- Maintain professional licensure and pursue ongoing professional development, including training focused on young children with disabilities and their families.
- Contribute to a collaborative team culture and help advance the quality and success of the Early Intervention program.
What You Bring:
We're looking for a compassionate, collaborative professional who understands that families know their children best and believes in meeting families with respect, partnership, and support.
The ideal candidate will have:
- The highest degree applicable to the profession/discipline.
- At least two years of experience working with young children, preferably children with special needs.
- Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work effectively with families and colleagues from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- A commitment to professional growth and high-quality, family-centered services.
- A valid driver's license, reliable automobile, and required auto liability insurance.
- The ability to successfully complete Children's Friend's pre-employment background screening requirements.
Why This Work Matters
Early childhood is a time of incredible growth—and the support children and families receive during these years can have a lasting impact.
As part of our Early Intervention team, you won't simply provide therapy. You'll help families build confidence, strengthen everyday routines, celebrate milestones, and discover new ways to help their child thrive.
If you're looking for work where your clinical expertise, compassion, and partnership with families can make a meaningful difference, we'd love to hear from you.
