Newborn Hearing Screening Technician Join us in making a difference in the early detection of hearing loss in newborns as a Newborn Hearing Screening Technician. As a newborn hearing screen technician, you will provide hearing screens in the hospital after a baby is born. You will work on‑site at one or more hospital locations to screen newborns for hearing loss. At Pediatrix, you will receive on‑the‑job training, including annual certification accredited by the American Academy of Audiology, helping ensure early detection of hearing impairments and timely intervention. Location and Schedule Medical Center of the Rockies Very part time position – less than 20 hours per week Daytime shifts 3–4 days per week Start time of 8 am with flexible end time dependent on workload Typical Responsibilities On a typical day, you will conduct newborn hearing screens, usually in a mother’s hospital room, and help educate parents about the importance of the screen using video and printed tools. You will also be in charge of entering patient data and validating hearing screens, as needed. Additional responsibilities may include helping to confirm or reschedule outpatient appointments, following up on any equipment issues, and training new staff. Perform newborn hearing screens Verify insurance information with parent/guardian Document hearing screen results accurately Follow protocol for timely submission of billing Follow protocol related to security and identification of infants Follow infection control, safety awareness, and other hospital, company, and program policies Recognize potential problems and obtain assistance, when necessary, in a timely manner Complete company and hospital orientation or classes, including patient privacy training Complete and maintain employee health requirements Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required. Preferred Experience and Skills One to three months related experience; experience working with infants preferred. Experience in a hospital setting preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Computer proficiency and accurate data entry. Ability to prioritize daily tasks and assignments. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand and walk frequently (95% of shift). Ability to push/pull up to 100 pounds frequently. Pay Hourly pay ranges from $15.68 to $19.18 per hour, based on years of relevant experience.
