Sr. Desktop Support Technician

Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Desktop Support Technician for our client, an American energy storage company, based in Berkeley, CA, with four locations across the US. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for the Berkeley, CA location and work within a broader team to support projects and IT activities across the company. This will include day-to-day internal customer service and support for first-level issues, assisting end u with onboarding, set-up, service requests, and troubleshooting for a fleet of PC/Mac devices and peripheral equipment, and maintaining hardware and software installation and configuration and analyzing and evaluating network connectivity-related issues.

Responsibilities include:
- Provide tier 1-3 and some tier 4 support employees
- Configure, maintain and support IT hardware including user laptops, desktops and lab computers
- Install and configure appropriate software according to specifications; set some of these specifications
- Maintain and troubleshoot local networks
- Set up new printers, office and lab
- Plan and work on special projects
- Assist with the onboarding of employees
- Manage an inventory of IT assets and supplies
- Create and document processes

Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of in-person, desktop support experience
- 3+ years of experience supporting Windows and Mac in an Active Directory environment
- Strong background with tier 1-3 and some tier 4 support experience
- Experience with device management, computer, and MDM (Jamf, Addigy, or similar)
- Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues
- Experience with the administration of standard business applications, such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Adobe Acrobat, 1Password, Jira, and VPN


Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience with Linux, Android and iOS
- Lab and networking experience preferred
