About the Role

This is a leadership-focused role for a driven professional who thrives on guiding teams, strengthening client relationships, and shaping the strategic direction of impactful projects. You’ll lead project planning and execution, mentor and develop staff, and play a key role in growing the business through proposals, client partnerships, and repeat work. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with architects, project managers, and engineers to understand the parameters of a project and develop a creative design per the “Hafer Way” process
  • Coordinate the arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures
  • Prepare cost estimates of landscape design
  • Prepare graphic representations of plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software (knowledge of Revit is a plus)
  • Prepare construction documents including site plans and specifications for bidding purposes
  • Provides master planning and direction for complex design work for current or expansion development
  • Review and ensure all plans meet applicable code requirements
  • Coordinate and plan planting projects
  • Select appropriate landscaping materials and knowledge of plants, and materials that are sustainable and appropriate for the area specified
  • Analyze environmental reports on land conditions, such as drainage and energy usage
  • Perform site observations during construction to document landscape project progress to ensure that it adheres to plans
  • Administer knowledge of master planning activities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Seek new work through marketing activities or by giving presentations

Qualifications

  • Advanced and strong understanding of the principles, practices, permitting process, codes, and standards in Landscape Architecture and Planning.
  • Effective communication, financial management, and leadership skills to manage multiple projects, clients, schedules and budgets.
  • Serve as a main point of contact with clients; receive and convey client goals and objectives to team members.
  • Experience and desire to mentor, train, and develop team members.
  • Exhibit abilities and strong experience in CADD, Photoshop and MS Office. Additional experience in Autodesk Infraworks and Sketchup are a bonus.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture (Master’s is preferred, but not required)

Experience:

  • 5 to 7+ years of relevant experience in landscape architecture and design including construction-related experience (an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered)
  • Must be a licensed Landscape Architect in the state of Indiana, or have the ability to obtain licensing within one year of joining the company

Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates willing to relocate to Evansville, IN
