GRASP has an opening for a part-time college financial aid advisor to work at Poquoson High School during the school year. Advisors are assigned to a particular school 1 day per week during the school year. All training is provided: 2 4 days per year in Richmond or virtually.
Job details:
- A GRASP Advisor provides individualized advising to students and parents regarding how best to pay for post-secondary education.
- This Advisor would join with all staff in GRASPs continuous development work in the areas of diversity equity and inclusion - with those efforts directly furthering GRASPs mission.
- The usual candidate has a heart for helping students is committed to the community and understands the confidentiality of student information.
- While helpful prior expertise in college financial aid is not required as all necessary information is provided in the training program.
- Similarly while familiarity with language(s) in addition to English would be beneficial it is not a requirement for this position.
- A college degree is required. As this position will work directly with students in public schools a background check is required.
