Public Health Nurse Supervisor I - Clinic

DUTIES Position provides first line supervision of the Outreach Clinical Team, physicals for the Breast & Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP), Comprehensive STD nurse screening, exam & treatment daily to clients functioning as an Enhanced Role Nurse. Supervise Care Coordination for Children, Communicable Disease/Tuberculosis, Chronic Disease, BCCCP & Maternal Health Programs. Oversee the work operations of the Outreach Team making changes & setting priorities where necessary; Assures that overall agency policies and procedures are in place & adhered to; Recommend changes to the Director of Nursing with the position having considerable input into short- & long-range planning. Position is authorized to make some changes & priorities in work plans & personnel assignments to meet program & client needs. Position reports to the Director of Nursing. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Graduation from a four-year college or university with a B.S. Degree in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nurse rotation & three years of Public Health Nursing experience; or graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing & four years of professional nurse experience, three of which must have been in public health; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. RNs without a B.S. degree must attend & pass the Introduction to the Principles and Practices of Public Health & Public Health Nursing Program courses within the first year of employment. Additional training is also required to become an Enhanced Role Nurse. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS Thorough knowledge of & skill in application of nursing theory, practices, principles & techniques employed in the field of public health related programs are required. Considerable knowledge of & skill in obtaining a healthy history is required. Considerable knowledge & skill in the administration & organization of a public health nursing program & public health nursing supervision of staff & programs. Ability to plan, coordinate & supervise the work of others & to present findings, comments & opinions clearly & concisely in oral/written form. REWARDS AND QUALIFICATIONS FOR BONUSES A non-refundable signing bonus in the amount of $3,750 will be paid in the selected applicant’s paycheck 6 months following employment and execution of the Employment Signing and Retention Bonus Agreement. A retention bonus in the amount of $3,750 will be paid in the selected applicant’s next paycheck following the completion of 12 full months of employment in the same position with the County following the date of payment of the signing bonus. To be eligible for a sign-on bonus, the candidate must not have worked as a probationary, permanent, or time-limited employee in the last 12 months as an employee subject to the State Human Resources Act or Warren County’s Personnel Manual. #J-18808-Ljbffr
