The Stage 1 design and construct project is scheduled to deliver drinking water in 2028, as part of an overall Water Corporation program of works valued at AU$2.8 billion.Alkimos Water Precinct - will help the region manage the combination of declining rainfall and population growth. Since 1970, winter rainfall in southwest Western Australia has decreased by about 20 per cent while Perth’s population - currently 2.12 million - is expected to reach 2.9 million by 2031 and 3.5 million by 2050, making it Australia’s third largest city and significantly increasing the demand for drinking water.We're excited to be building this critical piece of infrastructure, and to supply 50 billion litres of climate-resilient drinking water to the region.PositionThe Cost Controller will lead cost control and financial performance across the project, providing clear cost visibility, accurate forecasting, and high-quality financial insight to support operational and commercial decision‑making.Working on site you will play a pivotal, hands-on role, partnering closely with operations, finance, commercial, and project controls teams to ensure disciplined cost management and decisions-ready reporting.This role suits a cost professional who enjoys owning outcomes, working with complex operational environments, and influencing decisions through sound financial insight.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn activity‑level cost reporting, variance analysis, detailed forecasts, and substantiation of monthly cost and claim reportingSupport and maintaining Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Delegated Authority frameworks, working closely with commercial and cost management functions to ensure strong financial governance across operations.Track, control and forecast against approved budgets, proactively identifying cost drivers, trends and emerging risks.Support month-end cost reporting, financial close and reconciliation processes.Assist with cash flow tracking, forecasting and financial reporting as required.Support internal and external audits, assurance activities and internal financial reviews.Required Skills and CompetenciesTertiary qualified in Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline4+ years of cost control, project controls or accounting roles within construction, infrastructure, energy or industrial project environments.Strong capability in of cost tracking, forecasting, variance analysis and financial reportingIntermediate Microsoft Suite and exposure to SAP (highly regarded)Ability to clearly explain cost movements, forecast changes, and financial performance to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.ACCIONA has been given the Top Employer 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 certification in Australia, which certifies the company's commitment to excellence in human resources management and those who focus on putting their people first through their exceptional HR policies.
