Senior Legal Counsel (Complex Trials)

About the role In this role you will provide advice and representation in the most complex criminal matters, with a focus on superior court trial work. You will also assist in the development and supervision of junior lawyers, providing opportunities for them to gain experience through participation in trials. About you You will have extensive experience and highly developed skills in the conduct of indictable matters progressing to trial in the District and Supreme Court of Western Australia, including homicide and sexual offences. The ideal candidate will also have experience in the conduct of trials before the President of the Children’s Court. You will demonstrate excellent professional judgement and integrity in your practice, and have experience training and mentoring junior members of the profession. You will also have experience working with complex and vulnerable clients, a genuine commitment to social justice, and the ability to work under pressure managing a busy schedule of trials.
