Intensive Care Unit Nurse (ICU)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse to provide 24/7 care for critically ill and unstable patients. This position requires expert management of life-support equipment, titration of complex intravenous drips, and interpretation of vital signs. You will perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications, and coordinate advanced care with a multidisciplinary medical team.

Responsibilities

• Manage life-support equipment, including ventilators.
• Titrate complex intravenous drips based on patient needs.
• Conduct comprehensive head-to-toe assessments of patients.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patient reactions.
• Coordinate care with the multidisciplinary medical team.

Schedule

This position entails a 12-hour night shift with a 36-hour guarantee.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience (floating is not considered).
• EKG experience is required.
• Must be willing to float to similar units, such as Neuro, CVICU, or Trauma (preferred).
• Experience with managing ventilators, CRRT, and balloon pumps (preferred).
• Valid Michigan nursing license (LARA and Nursys verification required).
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS.
