Job DescriptionHarborview Medical Center Environmental Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Manager of Environmental Services .WORK SCHEDULE100% FTE (40 hours per week)Day ShiftPOSITION HIGHLIGHTSManage day-to-day operations for one of Harborview Medical Center’s largest departmentsOversee Environmental Services functions including cleaning and disinfection, waste management, linen services, integrated pest management, and room setupSupport specialized patient care areas including Operating Rooms (OR), ICUs, patient care floors, and the Emergency Department (ED)Develop and implement efficient operational processes and Environmental Services best practicesCollaborate with hospital leaders, staff, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure continuity and quality of servicesPRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESManage day-to-day EVS operations to ensure the operational needs of the hospital are metOversee cleaning and disinfection, waste management, linen services, integrated pest management, and room setupEnsure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and environmental services standards and regulationsPartner with hospital leaders to coordinate EVS activities, schedules, priorities, and service expectationsAssist the Director with operational plans, budgets, policies, procedures, and department strategiesManage staffing, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance management, and corrective actionPlan, assign, and oversee the work of supervisors and other direct reportsMonitor department performance and implement best practices to improve quality, safety, efficiency, and patient careREQUIREMENTSBusiness Administration degree or related field equivalentThree to four years of management experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare settingEquivalent education and experience may substitute for required qualificationsABOUT HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTERAs the region's only Level I Trauma and verified burn center, Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine.
