Join Horwitz and become part of a legacy of excellence and opportunity.Position Overview:The Site Quality Representative supports Horwitz's Quality Control Program by performing field inspections, documentation reviews, material receipt checks, and compliance verification across mechanical, electrical, insulation, and control system installations. This role ensures that work performed by Horwitz crews and subcontractors meets project specifications, code requirements, and standards outlined in the Horwitz QC Manual. This position reflects Horwitz's core values: Safe, Accountable, Professional, Motivated, Can Do, and Curious.Key Responsibilities:These responsibilities generally describe the nature of the position and may not be all inclusive:Attend project and coordination meetings as neededWork with the QC manager and project team to schedule additional part-time Quality Control personnel to support all QC requirementsPerform and document daily quality inspectionsComplete and submit the daily Quality Control ReportCapture and maintain daily jobsite photographsMeet with all new hires to review jobsite QC requirementsOversee document control, including plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and O&M manualsManage material control, including receipt inspections and mill reportsInspect installation quality: structural supports, hanger locations, slope, cleanliness, and overall workmanshipVerify proper pipe joining methods (glue, weld, press, solder, fusion welding, etc.)Review duct construction standards and installation to ensure proper duct installationTrack and maintain certifications (weld, braze, solder, etc.)Verify excavation, backfill, and compaction requirementsOversee and document pressure testingCoordinate and document duct leakage testingSupport and document flush and fill proceduresCoordinate duct cleaning activitiesEnsure protection of finished work and installed equipmentPrepare, organize, and submit the final document turnover packageProvide startup and commissioning support as necessaryMonitor subcontractors under Horwitz to ensure they are installing to Horwitz's standardsPerform other duties as assignedConduct yourself in accordance with Horwitz core values: Safe, Accountable, Professional, Motivated, Can Do, and CuriousSkills/Abilities:Strong ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, codes, and installation drawingWorking knowledge of mechanical, plumbing, piping, ventilation, insulation, and electrical systemsStrong documentation, note-taking, and report-writing skillsAbility to identify deficiencies and communicate corrective actions clearlyIntermediate computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, PDF markup tools, digital forms)Ability to collaborate across departments and tradesDetail-oriented with strong follow-throughEducation/Experience:Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field preferred3–5 years of experience in construction, mechanical installation, quality control, or inspection workFamiliarity with NCPWB/UA welding, brazing, and pipefitting standards preferredFamiliarity with SMACNA duct construction and installation standards preferredOSHA 30 or willingness to obtain strongly preferred
