Assistant Manager

Overview Woo Woo’s Pet Adventure in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Dog Daycare Assistant Manager (Pet Care Supervisor/Animal Care Manager). Pay: $20 – $23 per hour (based on experience). This full-time long term role is ideal for someone who loves animals, thrives in a leadership position, and wants to be part of a fun, fast-paced pet daycare environment. Position Details Full-Time | 32 - 40 hours per week (primarily morning shifts) On-call Monday–Friday to support staff if needed Benefits: Health Insurance upon request, Paid vacation after 1 year of employment, 10% discount on doggy daycare services Compensation: $20 – $23/hour based on experience Key Responsibilities Open or close the dog daycare (primarily opening shifts) Supervise 4–5 employees and ensure smooth daily operations Coach, train, and discipline staff to maintain professionalism and teamwork Conduct new dog evaluations (training provided for the right person) Schedule daycare dogs and maintain accurate files in our system Ensure employee timesheets are completed (payroll handled by management) Answer phones, respond to emails, and provide customer service support Conduct employee evaluations and assist with hiring/firing decisions Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for dogs and clients Handle emergency issues with calm leadership Take photos and post engaging content to Instagram & Facebook Hands-On Leadership Our management team works on the floor with staff and dogs daily, learning each pup’s personality while ensuring safe play, proper corrections, and a positive environment for dogs and humans alike. Qualifications Previous management, supervisory, or team lead experience (animal care, pet boarding, or dog daycare experience a plus) Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Must speak English Ability to address workplace issues professionally and constructively, including: Verbal warnings Written warnings Termination of employment Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a busy environment Passionate about dogs and creating a safe, fun experience for them Ability to read and interpret dogs’ body language preferred Will train to interpret body language if necessary Why Join Us?
