IMS Database Administrator

A Bachelor’s or Higher Degree is the minimum entry required for the position We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator with a strong focus on IMS DBA knowledge to join our team in Dearborn, MI. The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in database management, with a proven track record of optimizing database performance, ensuring data integrity, and implementing robust backup and recovery solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of IMS databases and the ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams to support our data driven initiatives. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain IMS databases to ensure high availability and performance. Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to optimize system efficiency. Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity. Collaborate with application developers to design database schemas and optimize queries. Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and security audits. Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices for future reference. Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in database technologies. Mandatory Skills Strong expertise in IMS DBA, including installation, configuration, and administration. Extensive experience with database performance tuning and optimization. Proficient in backup and recovery strategies for IMS databases. Solid understanding of database security practices and compliance requirements. Experience with SQL and database query optimization. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Skills Familiarity with other database management systems (DBMS) such as Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL. Experience with cloud based database solutions. Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes. Understanding of data modeling and database design principles. Experience with automation tools for database management. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 15+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on IMS DBA. Relevant certifications in database management or IMS technologies are a plus. Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple priorities. The pay rangeforthis role is $110,000- $120,000 per annumincluding any bonuses or variable pay.
