Operations Supervisor - WWT

Facility Type: Industrial / Resource Recovery Employment Type: Full-Time | Onsite Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor with centrifugation systems and MBR technology experience to oversee the daily operation of wastewater treatment systems at a high-throughput industrial resource recovery facility. This is a hands-on, site-based supervisory role responsible for leading operators, ensuring process stability, maintaining compliance, and driving day-to-day performance across biological, mechanical, and membrane treatment systems. The Operations Supervisor will act as the first-line technical authority on shift ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient wastewater operations while coordinating closely with maintenance, environmental, and broader site teams. Key Responsibilities Operations Supervision & Process Control Monitor influent/effluent quality, flows, and process KPIs to ensure permit compliance Optimise biological, mechanical, and membrane-based systems to manage variable loadings Troubleshoot operational upsets and escalate complex issues where required Provide shift leadership and technical direction to operations personnel Core System Oversight Oversee centrifugation systems for solids separation and dewatering Support operation and optimisation of MBR (Membrane Bioreactor) systems, including membrane cleaning and performance monitoring Monitor and maintain transfer systems including pumps, valves, piping, and associated infrastructure Ensure systems are operating within design parameters and performance targets Maintenance Coordination & Reliability Support preventative and corrective maintenance programs Identify mechanical, instrumentation, and process issues early to minimise downtime Coordinate with maintenance teams and third-party contractors Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records Compliance & Reporting Ensure adherence to environmental permits and discharge requirements Oversee sampling, testing, and documentation processes Support audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions Maintain compliance reporting standards Safety & Site Collaboration Promote and enforce a strong safety culture Ensure all wastewater activities align with site safety procedures Work closely with utilities, environmental, and site leadership teams Required Experience & Qualifications Experience supervising industrial or municipal wastewater treatment operations Hands-on knowledge of centrifugation systems and MBR technology (essential) Strong understanding of biological and membrane treatment processes Experience working in regulated environments with environmental compliance requirements Comfortable working in a fully onsite, operational environment Preferred Background Experience within industrial processing, resource recovery, F&B, or organics facilities Exposure to facilities with variable influent characteristics Wastewater certifications (California certifications highly desirable) Why This Role Key supervisory position within a technically complex facility Real operational ownership without full-site administrative burden Long-term opportunity within a stable, high-performance industrial environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
