Senior Advisor, Drug Pipeline Strategy - Evernorth

SUMMARY:The Senior Advisor, Drug Trends and Pipeline Strategy will be responsible for the development and execution of clinical strategies across multiple therapeutic areas to create market differentiating solutions and drive market adoption and growth. The Senior Advisor plays a key role in ensuring alignment and collaboration amongst cross-functional business units throughout the Supply Chain organization. The Senior Advisor will leverage analytical and clinical expertise, along with strong healthcare industry knowledge, to conduct strategic analyses, contribute to enterprise planning, and collaborate across clinical, product, operations, analytics, actuarial, and finance teams to identify new opportunities, expand capabilities, and strengthen competitive positioning, and support long-term strategic priorities.RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct external and internal reviews of the healthcare landscape (e.g., drug pipeline, emerging trends, regulatory activities, and competitive dynamics) to identify trends, opportunities, and gapsEvaluate the performance of internal clinical strategies to determine enhancementSynthesize internal and external insights into innovative and actionable recommendations that drive enterprise objectives, exceed clients’ needs, and enable differentiation in the marketplaceUtilize internal data and modeling to evaluate financial impacts of strategiesBuild strategic partnerships with key stakeholders to achieve key initiatives and goalsUnderstand and partner with the Negotiator Team to negotiate contracting language to protect formulary and trend solutions from unintended conflicts across Commercial, Medicare, and product offerings that depend on those contractsMonitor strategy performance and outcomes following implementationDevelop presentations and strategic updates that synthesize complex information for senior leadershipEstablish and execute internal SOPs and playbooks for the teamIDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE A COMBINATION OF THE FOLLOWING:Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MHA, PharmD) preferredLicensed pharmacist in good standing, if degree is PharmacyMinimum of 5 years with experience in healthcare strategy (e.g., pharmaceutical contracting, analytics, formulary development, product development, business development)Experience using financial modeling tools, including experience in interpreting and reviewing financial modeling results to evaluate the financial impacts of contract changesStrong financial acumenDemonstrated expertise in clinical strategy and healthcare innovationKnowledge of PBM industry, managed care, healthcare industryComfortable working with complex data sets and queriesExceptional Strategic thinker with a track record of anticipating trends and translating insights into actionable plansExperience working effectively in a matrixed organization with strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skillsStrong detail orientation, organization, and management of multiple parallel projects with fluid timelinesAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate accountability for deliverables, and effectively balance multiple prioritiesIf you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 119,600 - 199,300 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.At The Cigna Group, you’ll enjoy a comprehensive range of benefits, with a focus on supporting your whole health.
