Coffee Shop Barista

The Coffee Shop Barista prepares and serves high-quality beverages and food while providing exceptional customer service. This role is essential to creating a welcoming and efficient environment for customers and supporting the overall operations of the coffee shop. The Barista will also be cross-trained to support convenience store operations, assisting with retail functions as needed.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing coffee, espresso, and other beverages according to company recipes and quality standards.
• Preparing and serving food items, including pastries, sandwiches, and snacks.
• Providing friendly, efficient, and attentive customer service at the counter, drive-thru, or caf area.
• Operating POS system, handling cash, and processing transactions accurately.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization of workstations, dining areas, and equipment.
• Monitoring inventory of ingredients and supplies and reporting shortages or equipment issues to supervisor.
• Ensuring beverages and food items meet company quality and presentation standards.
• Practicing all company safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a safe environment for team members and customers.
• Assisting with opening, closing, and shift transition procedures as directed.
• Supporting convenience store operations as needed, including:
• Operating POS for store transactions.
• Assisting customers with purchases and inquiries.
• Stocking shelves and maintaining product displays.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the store.
• Reporting for work in a timely manner when scheduled.

Additional job duties include:

• Assisting with other duties as assigned.

Supervisory responsibilities:

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications include:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math and computer skills for POS operations.
• Professional, positive attitude and ability to maintain composure under pressure.
• Willing and able to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.
• Must have a phone and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to communicate in English IF APPLICABLE.

Physical requirements include:

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear.
• Physical attendance at primary work location is required.
