Bilingual Legal Assistant

BILINGUAL (SPANISH/ENGLISH) LEGAL ASSISTANT/PARALEGAL Our busy and friendly North Shore law firm is seeking an experienced full-time Legal Assistant/ Paralegal to work Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the attorneys to prepare cases for arbitration, draft legal and general correspondence to clients, keep files organized, perform digital filing and data entry, and assist and interpret for attorneys during meetings as needed. You should also possess a professional and friendly telephone manner, be able to take accurate and detailed messages, have excellent organizational skills, have the ability to communicate accurately both written and verbally, and work well within a team environment. Responsibilities will include: Interpret (Spanish/English) during routine meetings with attorneys Answer incoming calls, complete new client intakes and return messages as needed Draft demands for arbitration and demands for settlement (using templates) Send emails on behalf of Attorneys to clients to request documents, provide general case updates, and schedule meetings Add new client information to spreadsheets and update information as needed Photocopying, file retrieval, general document filing and file maintenance Set up conference calls as needed Open, download, and sort documents from email correspondence and save to digital case files in an organized manner Assist Attorneys and Paralegals with other various administrative tasks as needed Must be fluent in Spanish and English Must possess high attention to detail Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel We do prefer candidates who have some prior legal assistant, paralegal or case management experience; however, we are willing to train the right individual.
