Director - Digital Banking

Job DescriptionWHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? The Director – Digital Banking/Money Movement provides strategic leadership and oversight of digital product initiatives for RBC's Banking & Lending business within US Wealth Management. They manage a team of Product Owners, align product strategy with banking objectives, and drive innovation across the digital client experience and lending solutions portfolio. This role focuses on incoming and outgoing transactions including ACH, Wires, Checks, Bill Pay through our cash management accounts as well as brokerage/advisory accounts. You’ll work with vendors and internal development partners to ensure the best overall experience for our clients and advisors.WHAT WILL YOU DO? Strategic LeadershipDefine digital product strategy for our banking platform and transaction processing, including ACH, Wires, Checks, and Bill PayEstablish product roadmaps aligned with banking business goals and customer needsIdentify market opportunities in digital banking and payment solutionsDrive innovation in both customer and advisor facing platform experiencesEnsure compliance with banking regulations, anti-money laundering (AML), and consumer protection frameworksTeam Leadership & DevelopmentHire, mentor, and develop Product Owners focused on banking and lending solutionsProvide coaching on product strategy, regulatory requirements, and banking industry best practicesSet performance expectations and conduct regular evaluationsFoster collaboration between product, compliance, risk, fraud prevention, and business teamsPortfolio & Financial ManagementOversee digital banking product portfolio performance and ROIManage budget allocation across payment solutions, and customer toolsPrioritize investments based on customer value, revenue impact, and strategic fitPresent business cases to secure funding for digital transformation and product innovationMonitor product profitability, cost structures, and operational efficiencyStakeholder & Executive EngagementReport to Digital leadership on product performance, market trends, and competitive positioningManage relationships with key stakeholders including Banking/Lending Product team, vendors, IT/App Dev partners, compliance, and risk teamsCommunicate product vision and roadmap across the organizationRepresent product function in regulatory and strategic business discussionsEnsure alignment with RBC's broader digital and banking strategyProcess & GovernanceEstablish product management frameworks aligned with banking regulations and RBC governance standardsImplement decision-making structures for product launches and feature prioritizationEnsure compliance with federal banking regulations, consumer protection laws, and fair lending requirementsDrive continuous improvement in product development processes while maintaining security and data privacy standardsCoordinate with Security, Compliance, Risk, and Fraud Prevention teams on product initiativesSupport product documentation and audit requirementsWHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?Must have12+ years of product management experience in financial services in money movement5+ years leading product management teamsProven track record of scaling digital products in highly regulated banking environmentsStrong understanding of banking industry, deposit products, credit products, and lending operationsExperience navigating regulatory compliance, risk management, and consumer protection in financial servicesExcellent strategic thinking and executive communication abilitiesDeep knowledge of agile and digital product development methodologiesWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
