Physiotherapist (PT) - General

The Physical Therapist develops and implements individualized plans of care to improve function, mobility, and quality of life for patients across the life span.

Works in outpatient clinics and inpatient settings, coordinating with physicians and other therapists to optimize outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient status, mobility, strength, range of motion, and functional limitations.
• Design and implement evidence-based treatment plans including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans to achieve functional goals and discharge criteria.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercises, safety, and activity modification.
• Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, and rehabilitation staff to coordinate care.
• Document assessments, plans, and progress in the electronic health record.
• Ensure equipment and treatment spaces are prepared and safe for patient care.

Qualifications

Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree.

Licensure: Licensed or eligible to practice physical therapy in the United States.

Certifications: State licensure required; optional specialty certifications such as OCS (Orthopedic Clinical Specialist) are preferred.

Experience or Skills: Proficient in evaluating and treating musculoskeletal conditions with strong communication skills.

Experience

• Experience delivering outpatient and inpatient physical therapy services.
• Experience with rehabilitation planning and documentation in an EHR.

Preferred

• Experience with specialty areas (e.g., geriatrics, pediatrics) or advanced manual therapy techniques.

Work Environment

Outpatient clinics and hospital-based rehab units; supportive teams and access to imaging and diagnostic resources.

Demanding but collaborative environment with patient-centered care and documentation in EHR.
