Line Cook: Cowboys Club (Private Members Club)

Position: Line Cook Department: Food and Beverage FLSA Status: Hourly / Non-Exempt Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follow assignments for opening and closing procedures and food preparation. Prepare food items by complying with portion size, quality standards, departmental rules, policies and procedures. Ensures that proper food temperatures are maintained. Responsible for safety standards, neatness and sanitation of work areas. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen including shelves, walls, floors and drains. Participates as a team player with specific responsibilities related to preparation, excellent service and delivery of products. Maintain proper sanitation for all dining and cooking utensils and cookware. Handles and cleans kitchen equipment carefully and safely to prevent damage or injury. Adhere to company guidelines for appearance and uniform standards. Other duties as assigned. Culinary training preferred. Must have two (2) to three (3) years working in a fast‑paced high‑end club, or restaurant. Must be able to work extended hours due to business requirements including late nights, weekends and holidays. Skills and Abilities Excellent customer service. Strong interpersonal skills; can effectively communicate and relate to all levels within and outside the organization; creates and builds positive and productive relationships. Responds quickly and effectively to changing trends and circumstances; embraces change and welcomes new perspectives; learns from past mistakes and adjusts accordingly. Proficiency in advanced cooking methods and techniques. Mastery of knife handling and knife maintenance. Understanding of different ingredients, their uses, and seasonal availability. Ability to create balanced and harmonious flavor profiles. Can manage people and resources to get projects completed; has a strong ability to multi-task and keep order. Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual in Spanish.
