HW Installation Engineer

Hardware Installation Engineer Siemens Healthineers is looking for passionate and driven Hardware Installation Engineers to join Varian’s Radiation Oncology Business, supporting the installation of advanced Linear Accelerator systems. This role involves onsite installation, upgrade, testing, acceptance, and handover of world-class medical linear accelerators and associated systems. Following comprehensive training from industry experts, you will independently manage installations of multi-million-dollar radiotherapy systems while delivering an exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities Install or upgrade Varian’s Linear Accelerators (LINACs) according to technical documentation, quality standards, and global installation guidelines. Deliver onsite performance through installation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, servicing, and repair of sophisticated high‑tech medical systems. Perform hands‑on technical activities such as assembly, installation, calibration, software integration, mechanical fixes, repairs, and troubleshooting with precision and detail within timelines. Carry out complex, high‑level LINAC installations requiring continuous 3–4‑week assignments. Use specialized engineering tools for precise calibration, alignment, and performance. Handle electronics, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting to resolve complex technical challenges. Provide independent troubleshooting of technical problems with remote assistance, escalating discrepancies when required. Conduct radiation surveys with customers, complying with regulatory requirements and safety standards. Maintain regulatory and safety standards while operating LINAC radiation beam systems. Perform Acceptance Testing to verify specifications and quality standards before customer handover. Demonstrate equipment operation and specifications to customers following the Customer Acceptance Procedure (CAP). Accurately document completed work in compliance with Quality Management Systems and company procedures. Support timely installation/upgrade completion to enable patients to begin treatment as scheduled. Submit work orders, timesheets, expense reports, installation reports, and related documentation regularly for accurate operational records. Maintain detailed records in Salesforce‑Unity, including installation activities, technical issues, corrective actions, and parts utilization. Handle on-field installations & upgrades, including hardware, software, computers, and networking. Apply professional engineering concepts while adhering to company policies, procedures, and operational best practices. Verify and approve the operational performance and quality of systems following installation and commissioning activities. Demonstrate a strong learning mindset, quickly adapting to new technologies and tools. Perform installation & upgrade activities with high professionalism. Qualifications 2–3 years of technical and hands‑on field engineering experience on complex high‑technology machines. Hands‑on experience in electrical, electronic, and mechanical testing, verification, checkout, and calibration of advanced machinery. Knowledge and experience with electro‑mechanical engineering, machine assembly, and disassembly. Comfortable traveling across different regions for extended onsite assignments (3–4 weeks). Experience in Indian subcontinent and willingness to travel globally. Proficiency with technical documents (installation manuals, field service bulletins, etc.). Experience with high‑technology medical devices and related processes such as product installation, servicing, development, specifications, and troubleshooting. Proficiency with tools and test equipment (digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, torque wrenches, hydraulic jacks, mechanical measurement devices, software tools). Proficient with computer systems, network applications, IT network office tools. Knowledge of machine rigging, cabling, and related tasks. Customer‑focused attitude with strong interpersonal communication skills. Fluency in English (written and spoken). Bachelor’s degree in electronics, electrical, biomedical, computer, electro‑mechanical engineering, or related field. Proficient in business tools such as email, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Salesforce‑Unity, reporting databases, and SharePoint.
