Locums - Fort Smith, Arkansas Interventional Cardiology Opportunity (IMLC Accepted)

Clinical Role

Join an established hospital-based cardiovascular program in Fort Smith, Arkansas, providing inpatient cardiology and interventional cardiology coverage. This ongoing locums opportunity supports a rotating team of three cardiovascular interventional physicians who share hospital rounding, consults, echocardiogram reads, STEMI coverage, and interventional cardiology responsibilities.

Contract Length:

Through December 31, 2027

Coverage Requirements:

Three Interventional Cardiology locums physicians will rotate coverage.

Coverage Model:

• 3 locums providers Monday-Friday daytime coverage
• 2 locums providers Saturday/Sunday daytime coverage
• 1 locums provider Monday-Thursday night coverage

Call Schedule:

• STEMI response time: within 30 minutes
• All other call response time: within 20 minutes

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting:

Hospital-Based Cardiology Service

Patient Population:

Adult inpatient cardiology patients

Patient Volume:

Approximately 30-40 inpatient cardiology patients

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Provide inpatient cardiology coverage
• Perform hospital rounds
• Complete cardiology consultations
• Interpret echocardiograms
• Manage STEMI patients
• Provide interventional cardiology services as needed
• Manage assigned and unassigned patients
• Collaborate with hospital teams and specialists
• Document patient care using Epic EMR

Interventional Responsibilities:

Interventional cardiology volume will vary based on patient needs.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology - Required
• Interventional Cardiology training/experience - Required
• Active Arkansas Medical License - Required
• Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) accepted
• ACLS Certification - Required
